In 2012, NEO Corporation, NEO, was contracted by Santee Cooper, located in South Carolina, for the asbestos abatement and demolition of the Ascott Valley Industrial Complex. This project consisted of a 295,000 square foot building and several outlying structures. They included a paint shed, pump house, substation, cooling tower and an abandoned water tank.
NEO abated the asbestos-containing insulation, roofing materials, and flashings prior to demolition activities throughout these buildings. Demolition was completed down to grade.
Upon the completion of the abatement and demolition activities, NEO properly graded the site for water drainage
NEO conducted multiple waste reduction and material salvage operations on this project. Items that were recycled or reclaimed consisted of steel, aluminum, wood, bricks and other masonry items. All debris removed were properly disposed of in accordance with all state, local, EPA, and South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control rules and regulations.
